Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

PRP (platelet rich plasma) is a concentrate of platelet-rich plasma protein derived from one’s own blood. Growth factors released by the platelet aid in tissue repair in aging skin by stimulating collagen production by the skin cells.

It involves drawing of one’s own blood, running it through a centrifuge machine that segregates red blood cells and plasma. The plasma with highly concentrated platelet is then injected throughout the face using micro needle.

For skin or scalp injection: Prior to the procedure, numbing cream will be applied onto the face for 45-60 minutes. Thus the entire procedure is comfortable with no to minimal pain.

For joint injection: local anaesthetics will be injected prior to PRP injection, procedure is largely comfortable with minimal pain.

For skin or scalp injection, expect tiny blebs right after the injection which usually will disappear after a few hours. Minimal bruises from the needle injection may be experienced which will last for 5-7 days.

For joints injections, largely no downtime.

For skin injection: A generally more youthful and healthy skin as the skin regains its radiance, smoothness and elasticity. Less fine lines, less dark circle and a more hydrated skin will be observed.

For joint injection: reduction in pain and increase in smoothness of joint movement. It is possible to eliminate joint pain with successive PRP treatments.

Results can be seen 1-2 weeks after the treatment.

Every 1 month for induction phase. Every 4-8 months for maintenance phase.
