What is Q-Switched Laser
Q-Switched lasers are a type of high-energy, short-pulsed lasers that are commonly used for various cosmetic purposes. The "Q-Switched" term refers to the technique used to produce these short, intense pulses of light. This technology is particularly effective for targeting and treating specific pigment-related issues in the skin.
Common cosmetic purposes for Q-Switched laser treatments:
- Tattoo Removal: Q-Switched lasers are highly effective at breaking down tattoo pigments into smaller particles, which the body can then naturally eliminate. Different wavelengths are used depending on the colors present in the tattoo.
- Pigmented lesion removal: These lasers can target and break down excess melanin responsible for various pigmented lesions like freckles, age spots (sunspots), and birthmarks.

Caution:
As with any medical procedure, there are potential side effects and risks associated with Q-Switched laser treatments, such as temporary redness, swelling, and, in some cases, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (darkening of the treated area).
